Freestyle: Listrup winter session

A report by Caspar van Kalmthout

The first session of the year is set! After a long and depressive winter, where I got my satisfaction out of indoor training and pool clinics, I finally made it into nature for some paddling again. Together with Roy Hopmans and Tim Uneken we tried to get the right level on the Listrup wave after two earlier failures in 2008… And this time we got it!

Wauw Wauw Wauw, pretty damn sweet!! It was a monster without any mercy. A perfect way to check if the winter dust influenced our skills…

Allthough it was still pretty cold and snowy we had the time of our lives down there for a few hours. And the best thing about it, is that this wave is just (don’t laugh you damn spoiled bastards everywhere else around the world) 2,5 hours away from home!! Unique, incredible, no words! Another great reason why the Netherlands is the best place in the world!!

Check the pictures! Thanks to Bas Horstink and his two little friends for being out there for a while to shoot them!
